The Princeton women's basketball team earned its first-ever berth in the NCAA tournament after procuring the Ivy League title for the second time since 1999. The Tigers (25-2, 13-0 Ivy) overcame Harvard University and Dartmouth this weekend to clinch the Ivy crown. On the men's side, the Cornell University squad earned an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament for the third straight year. The Big Red (26-4, 12-1 Ivy) won the Ivy title after dominating Brown University on Friday, 95-76, while sinking 20 three-pointers to tie the Ivy record set by Princeton in the 2002-2003 season. After being seeded at number 14 in the West bracket in last year's men's tournament, Cornell fell, 78-59, to Missouri University in the first round.

Three Big Green men's hockey players Adam Estoclet '11, assistant captain Scott Fleming '11 and Evan Stephens '11 were named honorable mention All-Ivy on Thursday. Leading the Dartmouth squad with 33 points, Estoclet ended the season ranked fourth in scoring in the ECAC. He also notched the team's first hat trick since 2006 in a victory over Brown University on Jan. 8. Fleming, who was named first team All-Ivy last season, finished the season with a team-high 20 goals. He also posted six multiple-point games. Earning his second honorable mention All-Ivy honor award, Stephens ended the regular season as the top-scoring blueliner on the Big Green with six goals and 13 assists as well as the second-highest scoring defenseman in the ECAC.

The Dartmouth men's rugby team will be one of 16 teams competing in the Collegiate Sevens Championship tournament June 5-6 in Columbus, Ohio, Rugbyamerica.net reported. The competition will be nationally televised on NBC in what will be the network television debut for collegiate rugby. American International Media and NBC handpicked the featured teams based on skill level and perceived national appeal, according to Rugbyamerica.net. Teams chosen include Pennsylvania State University, the University of Utah, the United States Military Academy at West Point and the United States Naval Academy. Yale University and Harvard University are the only other Ivy League schools invited to the competition. Sevens is an alternative form of rugby in which only seven players play on each side, instead of the usual 15.
