A press release posted on the College's web site stated that the campaign had received $1.308 billion as of the official Dec. 31, 2009 closing date for fund raising. The campaign included a $50 million donation earmarked for the construction of the Visual Arts Center, as well as $122 million in donations slated for undergraduate financial aid.
Facing the recent recession, donations to the campaign had slowed going into 2009, although fund raising remained on track throughout the past year, The Dartmouth previously reported.
