Oxford University should expand its financial aid program based on the example set by Ivy League institutions, according to an Oxford administrator, The Guardian reported on Thursday. Hamilton is the former provost at Yale University.
Due to campus-wide budget cuts at Yale University, the institution's athletic department is enforcing new policies that will require teams to reduce travel and equipment expenses, the Yale Daily News reported on Thursday. Yale's endowment decreased by 24.6 percent in the fiscal year ending June 30, resulting in a university-enforced 7.5-percent reduction in campus-wide expenditures, according to the Daily News. Travel for away games will be limited to a predefined region close to the campus, except for championship games and games in which other schools pay for Yale's travel expenses, the Daily News reported. Team training trips over spring break will be restricted to the East Coast and reduced from two weeks to about eight days.
