Editors' Note

Dining at Dartmouth is weird. "Getting a meal" consists of much more than just a plate of General Tso's chicken or a Banana Log wrap. When, where and with whom we'll eat are questions we ask ourselves at least three times a day. Once we've determined lunch will be in Homeplate at 12:20 p.m. -- right before 11s get out so we beat the rush -- and we've secured a prime booth, it's time to make the rounds. Don't act like you don't what we're talking about. Now that we've seen the scene in Home Plate, we obviously need to check out who's lunching with whom at the Pavilion and Food Court ... and oh yeah, what they are serving for lunch, of course...

Like most of our peers, we are busy people, and, since eating cannot really be bypassed, we try our hardest to get the most out of every meal. Our Google calendars are filled with lunch and dinner dates two weeks in advance, and if a lunch date flakes out, we grab a seat in Collis Cafe and pretend to be working diligently, because eating alone is truly frightening.

It's funny that when it comes to eating at Dartmouth, the actual food is the last thing on our minds. Let's be honest, the options started becoming repetitive by the end of our freshman winter " sorry '12's. With a little over a year left here, at least we know the act of dining around campus will never become stale, despite the weekly "Chicken Mondays" and Turkey dinners.
