At this point in the indoor track and field season, all victories are at the individual level, as the meets do not assess team scores.
At the Valentine Invitational, Dartmouth's men finished with a number of encouraging times and victories.
Brian Evans '08 finished 14th in both the 55-meter and 200-meter dashes with times of 6.58 seconds and 22.20 seconds, respectively.
"[He] looked very good in [the 200 meter], it was his fastest time of the season," men's head coach Barry Harwick '77 said.
"[Evans is] a young man who gets ready for the big meets," women's head coach Sandra Ford-Centonze said. Ford Centonze also coaches the men's sprinters.
Charlie Stoebe '08 continued his impressive season with outstanding performances last weekend.
Stoebe finished fourth in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:03.85, breaking fifth in Dartmouth's all-time record.
"[Stoebe] really stepped it up, ran a phenomenal race, lowering his time," Ford-Centonze noted.
Harry Norton '08, building off of his recent performances, came in first in the one-mile run with a time of 4:02.76.
"[Norton did a] fantastic job, ran a very smart race as well; [it was] very impressive," Harwick said.
Mike Carmody '08 finished third overall in the 800-meter run, setting a Dartmouth indoor record with a time of 1:48.94; the second fastest time in the NCAA this year. He also was the top collegiate runner in the event, bested only by two post-graduate athletes.
"Mike is not only very fast, but also very competitive," Harwick noted.
Trevor Middleton '09 also gave an admirable performance in the 1000-meter run, finishing seventh with a time of 2:28.31.
"[They're] absolutely peaking at the right time," Ford-Centonze said.
"Our athletes were very determined to do well and their focus produced very good results."
In the women's pole vault, Natalie Todd-Zebell '09 finished third in the event with a height of 12 feet and 1.5 inches. Todd-Zebell set a school record in the event at the Dartmouth Indoor Classic meet earlier this month.

"Wood is fairly new to the 500-meter run since they don't have it at the high school level," Ford-Centonze said.
The 1000-meter run saw two Big Green runners finish in the top 10. Marcy Van Arman '09 finished in fourth place with a time of 2:57.75, while Andrea Imhof '11 came in eighth with a time of 2:58.12.

"It was top three all-time [in Dartmouth track history] -- very exciting," Ford-Centonze said.
Three Dartmouth runners competed in the 3000-meter run, led by Caitlin Cunningham '09, who placed 22nd in the event with a time of 10:10.26. Nichole Brown '11 and Zaritza Petrova '10 finished 39th and 52nd with times of 10:41.13, and 10:54.12, respectively.
