"[While] every athlete does not participate in every meet, the people that did compete did outstandingly in the pole vault for the women and the men," head coach Barry Harwick '77 said.
The women's team continued a string of strong performances in the track and field events with a number of top finishes.
The individual efforts were highlighted by a new Dartmouth record from Natalie Todd-Zebell '09, who posted a height of 3.95 meters in the pole vault.
The team continued its field success as Emily Daly '09 took second place in the shot put with a throw of 14.80 meters. Christina Alexander '11 and Jessica Long '08 came in fourth and fifth place in the event, respectively.
Micaela Carwell '08 saw success in the long jump, coming in second place with a distance of 5.22 meters. Jessica Robson '11, Cassandre Tanner '08, Z-Hye Lee '10 and Karen Woolley '09 also placed in the top 10 in the long jump event.
The Big Green women did well across the board in the weekend's track events, with Dartmouth athletes placing in the top five of each event with the exception of the 5,000 meter run, which had no Big Green participants.
Woolley, Carwell and Victoria Michelotti '08 all finished in the top five in the 60 meter hurdles. Kristin Ricci '08 took second place in the 1,000 meter run with a time of 3:03.7, finishing just six seconds behind the winner.
Lauren Campfield '11 and Marcy Van Arnam '09 took third and ninth in the 500 meter run, respectively.
On the Big Green men's side, Brian Evans '08 won the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.00 seconds, a personal best for the season.
"[Evans] is peaking at the right time with knocking off a few hundredths of a second each time he runs the 60 meter dash," Harwick said.
A number of Dartmouth men's athletes competed in the 200 meter dash, with eight finishing in the top 15, including four top 10 finishes.
"[The 200 meter dash is a] really interesting race; everyone went out a lot slower than we're used to. We try to go for 23 [seconds] flat, but we were at 24 seconds," co-captain Charlie Stoebe '08 said.
Stoebe won the 400 meter run with a time of 50.40 seconds.
In the 400 meter relay, Dartmouth's A-team won the race with a time of 3:23.59.
The Big Green posted solid performances in the men's field events as well. Andrew Ching '10 won the high jump with a height of 1.93 meters.
Derrick Vinklarek '08 set a personal record in the pole vault with a height of 4.73 meters. Tim Wunderlich '09, Tyler Koskenoja '08 and Nick Weir '10 also placed in the top 10 in the pole vault event.
"We're using the relay as a workout [for the field events], which can only help your jumping endurance into the season," Harwick said.
In the shot put, Lee Murtha '09, David Irving '11, Dan Ostrovsky '10 and Chris Alexander '11 all finished with top 10 performances.
"The field events have also done well, even while missing their captain Randy McKnight '08 who has been out all season with an injury," Stoebe said.
Overall, Harwick believes that the team is progressing as the season enters its final month.
"Almost across the board, [our athletes] are making progress literally week by week," Harwick said.
The Big Green will compete in the Valentine Invitational at Boston University this upcoming weekend, which will be another test against high-level competition from across the country.
"This is one the last opportunities for team to show that they deserve to be selected to compete in the Ivy Championship," Harwick said.
