Lydia Blandy '06 placed 25th in the 800 meter run at the Princeton meet.

Fatih Stanley '06 and Rob Kerris '07 won their events for the men, while Jamila Smith '06, Mattie Chatterton-Richmond '06 and Kelsey Wiegmann '06 each posted runner-up finishes for the women.

Friday proved accommodating, providing fair conditions for the distance races and discus throw. Things took a turn for the worse on Saturday, as the weather forced the day's field events indoors and proved a hindrance to those still running outdoors.

"The weather was schizophrenic," men's coach Barry Harwick '77 said. "Friday was very nice... [but on] Saturday, the weather changed dramatically and got cold, it rained hard, so they moved several events inside."

Despite the poor weather, women's head coach Sandra Ford-Centonze was pleased with the overall performance of the team.

"We had kids who complained about not being able to feel their feet at some points, so [the meet] went as well as can be expected," she said. "I was proud of the girls for going out and competing and doing the best that they could do."

Chatterton-Richmond had a historic performance in the triple jump, as her 39'8" jump tied the school record set by Leanne Atencio '88 and placed her in second place in the Ivy League for the season.

Wiegmann cleared 5'8.75" to take second in the high jump, and Tara McNerney '09 was not far off, clearing 5'7" to take fourth.

Smith threw the hammer 158'4" to finish second in addition to her third-place 45'3" toss in the shot-put.

Kerris won the discus on Friday with a personal best throw of 163'10," and then came back on Saturday to take fifth in the shot-put with a 53'4.25" toss.

Stanley won the 200 meter run in unfavorable conditions in 22.50 seconds, in addition to taking third in the 400 in 49.94 seconds. The senior also anchored Dartmouth's first-place 4x100 relay, combining with Ikechi Ogbonna '06, Calvin Richardson '06 and Brian Evans '08 to finish in 42.33 seconds.

Charlie Stoebe '08 also had a strong 400, with a 50.72 run, good for fifth place.

In the distance events, Melanie Schorr '06 finished fifth in the 5000 meter run with an NCAA regional qualifying time of 16:43.64, while Steve Mucchetti '06 took sixth in the men's 5k with a time of 14:24.85. Additionally, Meredith Curtis '06 finished second in the women's 10k race with a 37:03.79 run.

In the field, Jessica Long '08 threw the discus 134'3" to take fourth in the event.

Natalie Todd-Zebell '09 and Erika Graham '08 went fourth and fifth in the pole vault for the women, clearing 11'5.75" and 10'11.75," respectively. Randy McKnight covered 47'3.5" in the triple jump to take third for the men.

Most of the team will compete next weekend at the University of New Hampshire, but Harwick will be heading out to Walnut, Calif. with six Dartmouth athletes for the Mt. San Antonio College Relays, one of the more prestigious outdoor meets in the country.

"We're looking forward to a good week of training, then we'll head down with the rest of the coaches to UNH, participating in a quad meet," said Ford-Centonze.

"I think that if we continue with our training and if we can catch a break [with better weather] one of these weekends, we'll see the fruits of our labor."

Dartmouth will be up and running again at UNH next Saturday.
