Men's and women's Ultimate Frisbee traveled to Williams last weekend to play in their first tournament of the year.
Not having played competitively since November, the men lost the first game to Williams 15-10. The team bounced back to beat UMass 11-6. Due to poor weather, the UMass game was capped early, and Dartmouth's last-scheduled matchup with Middlebury was canceled.
Trailing early 3-0, the Dartmouth women came back to defeat Middlebury 9-5. Tied 9-9 with Williams, their other game was capped so the next score would win. Unfortunately, Williams managed to tally the game-winner and won 10-9.
Both the men's (Pain Train) and women's (Princess Layout) teams will go to Las Vegas, Nev. for the Trouble in Vegas Tournament on the weekend of February 11-13. There they will compete against some of the country's best collegiate teams.
The Dartmouth club hockey team beat the East Coast Rangers 16-4 last Sunday at Thompson Arena. Darcy Marr '06 and Max Guimond '06 both had hat tricks. Dave Thompson had five assists and two goals while Bart van Veghel '06 notched two goals and four assists. In net, Chuck Rosenwasser '06 gave up three goals on 20 shots. The Rangers are a Junior B Team from Boston.
Dartmouth men's club volleyball played in the Marty Invitational in Boston, Mass. at MIT Sunday. In pool play, the Big Green lost to Boston University (25-21, 25-20) and Columbia (25-21, 25-15), before beating WPI (25-14, 25-12). With a 1-2 record, Dartmouth finished third in its pool and did not qualify for the tournament playoffs.
