To the Editor:
Your April 29 article headlined "FO&M Workers Complain of Unfair Targeting" quotes an anonymous source as asserting that five employees within the department of Facilities Operations and Management are being laid off. This is not true. FO&M has not laid off any workers in the past few years, and we do not have any plans for layoffs to meet our Fiscal Year '05 budget. There is always a certain amount of attrition when employees retire or leave, and in some instances, we have not refilled those positions, but there have been no layoffs at FO&M.
I hope this letter serves to correct the record.
