April 5, Chandler Drive, 9:06 p.m.

A fire started in the electrical panel at a College-owned house at 2 Chandler Drive. The Hanover Police and Fire departments received the alarm at 9:06 p.m., arrived at 9:11 p.m., contained the small fire and left at 10 p.m. No damage to the house itself was reported.

April 7, Rope Ferry Road, 11:35 a.m.

A 19-year-old non-student male was stopped for driving 50 mph in a 20 mph zone on Rope Ferry Road. After the suspect consented to a search of his car, the police found drug paraphernalia and a white powder, possibly heroin. Drug testing is still ongoing to determine the nature of the substance.

April 7, Massachusetts Row, 8:29 p.m.

A 40-year-old male College employee passed out in the dish room of Thayer dining hall. He may have suffered a seizure, and was transported to the hospital.

April 9, Lebanon Street, 2:32 p.m.

A concerned citizen called Hanover to report suspicious activity at a parking lot across from Hanover High School. It was reported that two young males met to exchange money and a plastic bag.

When police arrived on the scene, they found two male Hanover High School students, aged 16 and 17, in the lot in separate cars. Both consented to car searches, which led to the discovery of a small amount of marijuana and their arrests. The 16-year-old will face juvenile court, while the 17-year-old will be tried as an adult and may face jail time.

April 9, Webster Avenue, 4:14 p.m.

A 20-year-old Chi Gamma Epsilon fraternity member reported theft of his silver cell phone. His Verizon service has been cancelled, and police are currently investigating phone records to see if the thief has made any unauthorized calls.

April 10, Massachusetts Row, 3:13 a.m.

A 23-year-old alumnus (Class of 2002) was picked up for intoxication and placed in protective custody. Some of his sober friends came to the station and picked him up later that morning.

April 10, Webster Avenue, 3:21 a.m.

An intoxicated, unresponsive 18-year-old male College freshman from Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., was found on the first floor of Kappa Kappa Kappa fraternity and transported to the hospital and arrested for possession by consumption. Police are investigating whether the fraternity has any culpability, and the arrested student will participate in an alcohol diversion program.

April 11, Rope Ferry Road, 1:25 a.m.

Dick's House called Hanover Police asking for assistance with an intoxicated 21-year-old senior male. Medical personnel were afraid the unruly patient would become more physically aggressive.

Hanover Police transported the male, who was reportedly not uncooperative with police, to the Grafton County House of Corrections and placed him in protective custody.

April 11, Tuck Drive, 2:40 a.m.

Safety and Security called Hanover Police after learning that an intoxicated male they picked up was not a College student, but in fact a 16-year-old from Visalia, Calif., who was visiting his brother.

The male was arrested, transported to the hospital and given the choice of appearing in court or participating in an alcohol diversion course.
