As the Ivy League race heats up in men's lacrosse, the teams are beginning to show their true colors. Here's a look at how the Big Green's competition has been faring.
Princeton
As of now, Princeton proudly leads the Ivy League in Men's Lacrosse with a flawless record of 3-0. Overall, the Tigers are 7-1, after thrashing the Brown Bears this past Saturday by 13 points. Princeton is led by its two big stars, Ryan Boyle and Rob Torti.
In the game against Brown, the dynamic duo combined for a total of four goals and six assists. The Tigers are hoping their leaders will step up again when they take on the Harvard Crimson on the 14th.
Brown
The Brown Bears sit comfortably in third place in the Ivy League with one win and one loss. In the big picture, the Bears managed to win three of their seven games so far. The loss to Princeton on Saturday was a heartbreaker for the team, as the offense struggled, scoring only two points to the Tigers' 15. The team will try to improve its record today when facing Harvard.
Pennsylvania
Penn trails the Bears at 2-3-0 in the Ivies and 4-4-0 overall. The Quakers' last Ivy game was against Dartmouth , in which they defeated the Big Green 7-4. The Quakers were able to win the game riding on the back of Scott Solow, who constantly proves to be the team's hero with his impressive scoring. Penn is back in action on Saturday when they take on Brown.
Yale
The Bulldogs of New Haven are struggling to find their game, having lost three of their four Ivy League matches, and five of their eight games overall. The Duke Blue Devils, in a close game, handed down one of these losses to the Elis on Sunday.
Duke defeated Yale 10-8, after the Bulldogs rallied to cut a five-point deficit. The Elis hope that their offense will be in high gear when they host Albany State University today,
Cornell
The Big Red of Cornell are tied with the Princeton Tigers in the league after thrashing the Harvard Crimson 16-3 on Saturday, making the team 3-0-0 in the Ivy League. Now 5-3-0 overall, Cornell is playing astonishingly well.
In their game against Harvard, the team got off to an excellent start and felt comfortable at the half. In the second half of play Cornell kept attacking Harvard's goal for an impressive win.
The Big Red faced Syracuse in an early-season rematch yesterday and lost 14-10.
Harvard
Harvard sits at the bottom of the Ivies, having not yet won a game in the league. The team's poor performance in the league was illustrated in the lost to Cornell by 13 points last Saturday.
Overall, the Crimson are 5-3-0, with two of those losses being Ivy games. Harvard is looking to get its first win against Brown today.
