Women's volleyball loses to UNH, 3-1

The Dartmouth College women's volleyball team suffered a 3-1 defeat yesterday as they faced the University of New Hampshire for the second time this season.

The match lowers Dartmouth's record to 9-12 while the Wildcats' record improves to 18-8, as they continued a ten-match win streak.

The Big Green showed improvement from their last meeting with New Hampshire, as they took the third game 15-10. However, it was not improvement enough for a victory.

The Wildcats dominated the match, winning the first, second and fourth games all by a score of 15-7.

Hitting posed a problem for the Dartmouth squad as they managed to record only a .077 kill percentage for the match.

In contrast, New Hampshire, led by Bethany Cole's 17 kills, was able to hit .228 over the four games.

Ashley Dean '02 contributed eight kills and 10 digs to the Big Green effort,with setter Jordan Schmidt '03 putting up 25 assists.

On Friday, the Big Green will host Brown in another Ivy League match. The action will take place in Leede Arena at 7:00 pm.
