To the Editor:
I will attempt to keep this short. Having spent four years at Dartmouth as an undergraduate and over 28 years since then as an administrator, I think I know whereof I speak. I am also a former cigarette smoker who went cold turkey 15 years ago.
I am appalled by the number of students who smoke -- adults who surely know the risks they face. I know that at 18 or 22, death seems a long way away, but it'll come -- and sooner rather than later if you smoke. Don't you guys realize what you're doing to yourselves? Don't you CARE?
