Sophomore Kristin Scopaz '00 opened it up with a shot past the Bulldog defenders and Jilliam Joyce '01 found the back of the net only 13 minutes later. The Bulldogs tried to mount a comeback as they scored with 3:50 remaining. but the Green's defense cut short any attempt by the Bulldogs the pull out a last minute win.
"I can say that this team has worked harder to be where we are right now than any other team I've ever seen," goalie Brittany D'Augustine '01 said. "If you look at the stats, you can see that we don't have one major goal scorer, but many. And almost all of those goals are assisted. This is just an example of how dangerous our team can be because of our team's dedication to each other."
D'Augustine had a terrific game with nine saves, seven of which came in the second half. Lauren Scopaz '00 had two assists in the game, giving her 44 career points, one shy of the school record.
"I think what has contributed most to our success this season is our hard work, commitment, and especially our focus on playing together as a team," Kristen Scopaz said. "Each upcoming game will be tough, especially at this point in the season when teams have had time and experience to mature as a unit. We take our season one game at a time with the most important game being the next one on our schedule."
