To the Editor:
The article about Vice-President Gore's visit to Dartmouth, published on August 4 ["Gore to speak at DMS symposium"], gave an incorrect impression in two respects: that the Vice President would be speaking in Spaulding Auditorium, and that his speech would be open to the public. In order to accommodate the Vice President's other commitments, the DMS Bicentennial Symposium Planning Committee had to move Gore's appearance from the session on World Population to a dinner that had been scheduled many months ago. The Planning Committee is making arrangements for televising the Vice President's speech so those not attending the dinner can see it. The exact time of the speech and the location(s) where it can be seen will be announced later.
