This year's National Collegiate Women's Lacrosse Championship will have a very unfamiliar look to it. That's because, for the first time since 1987, the Ivy League will not have a representative in the eight-team field.
The teams that did make the cut are James Madison, Loyola, Maryland, North Carolina, Penn State, Temple, Virginia and William and Mary.
No Ivy League team was able to earn a win against any of these eight teams in the regular season. And in the most recent national poll, all eight teams in the tourment had rankings higher than any Ivy team.
Dartmouth was ranked 9th in the latest poll -- highest among all Ivy League teams.
The Big Green ended their season 10-4 overall, 5-1 Ivy and earned their second Ivy title in three years with a win over Harvard two weeks ago.
