To the Editor:
Mr. Lorrigan, Collis Cafe chef: I ask you to think before you speak. There are many employees at Dartmouth Dining Services who have served in the military, several of them are veterans, who fought in wars against communism. For you to even bring up the word communism in regard to the workers here in Thayer, is completely uncalled for and downright disrespectful, not to mention ridiculous. You also claim that we are overstaffed. Have you ever been in our areas during a rush? Home Plate is usually pressed just to ensure that we have enough people to keep food supplied to the lines and the salad bar stocked. The union employees aren't standing around with nothing to do, I assure you. We're only trying to do a good day's work for a good day's pay -- that doesn't sound like communism to me. So before you spread misinformed slanders to the public, perhaps you should check your assumptions.
