Electronic Course Guide Useful

To the Editor:

In the article "Assembly Deserves a 'Fair Shake'" [Jan. 31], Jonah Sonnenborn lauds the Student Assembly's unveiling of the new "complete and accurate" on-line student course guide. We would like to echo Jonah's sentiment by saying that we were truly impressed by this Assembly project.

While the Engineering department, in which we are majoring, didn't make it into the guide, we were still awed by the exhaustiveness of the entries. The SA shrewdly condensed many of the tedious course descriptions into the concise yet illuminating catch-all phrase, "Summary here" which all but satisfied our curiosities. Of course, should any further information be desired, one has only to visit the professor at "office loc??" or call at "?phone?," which information is fortunately listed under many of the course entries.

In case the reader is unable to appreciate our enthusiasm for the Guide, these wonders can be viewed by all at http://www.dartmouth.edu/student/sa/proj/course-guide/. To sum up the spirit of this SA project, we will quote a line found in the "About the New Course Guide" section of the Guide which reads: "If you find a typos [sic] or mistake in the guide, let us know, and we can just fix it in a in [sic] just a couple of minutes without printing a while [sic] new guide!!" Congratulations, SA, on a job well done!
