Read poem in its entirety

To the Editor:

I am writing in response to the article published last week about "Women of the Ivy League" ("Women depicted in new light," Sept. 27, 1995). I would like to clarify any misinterpretation of my poem, "Revelation," which may have occurred when a part of it appeared in The Dartmouth. While [the article] appears to be correct when it assesses that [the poem] is a description of "an unpleasant sexual encounter," I urge readers to look at the poem in its entirety. To read the first five lines of a poem and come to a conclusion about it is like saying the earth is flat -- you have not seen enough.
