To the Editor:
My fellow gym rats should note that Alumni Gymnasium will be closed on April 16. Last year on the corresponding Sunday, signs appeared on the doors saying "Closed for Easter." But it's not true, says the Athletic Department, that the gym closes to observe a religious holiday that the rest of the College officially ignores. No, sir! The gym is closed on Easter Sunday to save money.
When I asked the Facilities Manager why the money could not be saved by closing one Sunday in vacation, when the students aren't here, the answer was both evasive and informative. As a matter of fact, she said, [the gym is] thinking of closing on Sundays in vacation. So all of us who use the gym in vacations are about to lose a lot of access.
Do you think they'll reduce the price of passes?
