Imposter on campus

The Dartmouth Medical School yesterday sent a letter to professors, staff and students asking for information about a local resident who the letter says for the past year has posed as a medical school student and a Tuck School of Business Administration student.

Dr. Joseph O'Donnell, the medical schools's associate dean for student affairs, said in the letter that Ferdinand Robert Tan has used different aliases, but was never a student at either the medical school or at Tuck. O'Donnell could not be reached for comment.

Tan has been informed that he will not be allowed into College buildings or residence halls, O'Donnell wrote.

Tan has posed as a student at the Tuck School over the past year, using names like as Ferdinand Tan, Robert Tan, Daniel Pak and Michael Berry.

Safety and Security Lt. Clifford Robinson declined to comment on the letter.

Tan could not be reached for comment.
