Aires Hosted 66th Reunion

This past weekend, the Dartmouth Aires a cappella group welcomed over 60 Aires alumni to their 66th reunion. Throughout the weekend, Aires alumni and current members performed together on two occasions. On Saturday evening, the voices of dozens of Aires echoed through Rollins Chapel as they serenaded audiences with hits from R. Kelly’s "Ignition (Remix)" to Jason Mraz’s "I Won't Give Up."

"I always really like going to Aires shows, but I particularly liked this one,” Phillip Son ’16 said. “It was cool to see so many alums there, and it was touching when they sang along with the current members.”

Sunday afternoon's performance was slightly more casual, as the Aires gathered on the steps of Dartmouth Hall and performed to an audience lounging in the sun on the Green. It was surreal watching the Aires alumni sing along to the classic "Shama Lama Ding Dong" by Otis Day and the Knights while their families and children applauded — and some even joined in.

The current members of the Aires couldn't get enough of their alumni. The group’s official Facebook page now features a photo of the Aires with the alumni, and a caption exclaiming, "We can't wait for the next reunion!"
