You've seen them at the activity fair and on Facebook, but what exactly is the Dartmouth Ginger Student Coalition?

According to memberZachary Martinez ’13, theDartmouth Ginger Student Coalitionwas founded “in order to foster the Ginger community on the Dartmouth College campus”.

The Dartmouth Ginger Student Coalition was founded “in order to foster the Ginger community on the Dartmouth College campus” said Zachary Martinez ’13.

The Coalition was started in response to a fragmented Ginger community and “messages like “Ginger don’t have souls” which dominated the campus discourse”, said Martinez. In fact, foundations for the Coalition have been laid by a few of the Ginger ‘13s since freshmen year when they started talking to each other about Ginger stereotypes and realized that “every ginger has a story”.

Both Gingers and allies of Gingers are welcomed to join the Coalition. “Dozens of Gingers and dozens and dozens allies who have committed to support our cause” have joined the coalition, said Martinez. The Coalition will be organizing a Ginger social this fall and inviting notable Ginger speakers later in the year. For more information, interested students can blitz DartmouthGingers@Gmail.com.
