For the past two decades, the town of Lebanon has wanted to turn unused railroad tracks into a multi-use trail for cyclists, joggers, dogwalkers and cross-country skiers alike. The project, called the Mascoma River Greenway, will be a four-mile pathway connecting Lebanon and West Lebanon that will cost around $2.3 million and should be completed by the end of 2016.
The Tuck Business School’s Bridge program, which teaches business fundamentals in a condensed term, will expand to Smith College this summer. The three-week program will be taught by Tuck faculty on Smith’s campus, covering accounting, marketing, leadership and more in a program targeted to women.

Starting this fall, several Greek houses will work with Sustainability Office intern Malcolm Salovaara ’17 to explore the option of planting permaculture gardens in their houses. The gardens would grow plants and vegetables that only needed to be planted once and could be harvested each year.

Provost Carolyn Dever appointed sociology professor Denise Anthony to a new position of vice provost for academic initiatives, a role she began Wednesday. Anthony will oversee faculty recruitment, training and retention, with a special focus on diversity — which she said requires the College to look at “the entire pipeline of development.”
