Ski team captures third place in NCAA Championships

Jennifer Wang / The Dartmouth Staff The Dartmouth ski team pulled off its best performances of the season to finish third in the country at the NCAA Skiing Championships held in Steamboat Springs, Colo., from March 8 to 11. The third-place team finish is the highest for the Big Green since 1982, when the men's and women's championships were combined. With five individual All Americans and a Slalom Champion, Dartmouth was able to finish well ahead of archrivals the University of Vermont and Middlebury, which placed fifth and seventh, respectively.

Ski team takes third at weekend carnival

Jennifer Wang / The Dartmouth Staff Although the Dartmouth ski team put forth a strong effort in all four events this weekend, the University of Vermont won its fourth consecutive Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association (EISA) carnival at the Dartmouth Winter Carnival. Two wins by the women's Nordic team and strong results by the men's Nordic and alpine teams had Dartmouth tied for first place after the first day of competition, but the Catamounts came back on Saturday to dominate in the slalom and win the final team standings with 815 points.
