To the Editor: I visited thedartmouth.com to check out local coverage of the presidential candidate town meeting and stumbled on an article on life of gays and lesbians in the Greek system.
In tonight's double feature, two mothers get political. "Mother" is an intense and sympathetic study of a working woman living in revolutionary Russia around 1905.
To the Editor: Dan Hogin's column, "The D: An 'Anything Goes' Publication?" [Feb. 21] was an fantastic essay pointing out your columnists' well-demonstrated ability to write endless amounts of fluff pieces that somehow always manage to get published. After reading it, I felt it was necessary to get something else off of my chest.
"Law of Desire" was not a film mainstream American audiences flocked to see when it was first released. There were just too many aspects its plot and themes which seemed shocking, disturbing and deviant.
I opened my Hinman Box Saturday to find my red cardboard Student Assembly "newsletter." One-fourth of it was a plea that all students vote in the upcoming referendum: "Do you support the continued existence of single-sex fraternities and sororities at Dartmouth?
