Men’s squash gets lone win out of four weekend matches

The men’s squash team earned their first win over Cornell University since the 2007-2008 season this Sunday, finishing with a 5-4 victory in a four-match weekend at the Berry Squash Courts. The women would not fare as well, falling to the Big Red 8-1. The men’s and women’s teams faced Columbia University on Saturday, but ultimately lost both matches. The No. 11 men (4-6, 1-4) fell to No. 4 Columbia 7-2, and the No. 7 women (4-6, 0-5) fell to No. 9 Columbia 6-3.

Men’s basketball goes winless on Ivy roadtrip

The Dartmouth men’s basketball team dropped games against both the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University this past weekend. Offensive woes plagued the Big Green (8-10, 1-3 Ivy) in both games, losing to Penn (6-11, 1-2 Ivy) 58-51 and to Princeton (9-10, 2-1 Ivy) 64-53. ?

Women’s basketball drops to 1-3 in Ivy play

After defeating Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts to kick off Ivy League play on Jan. 10, the Dartmouth women’s basketball team suffered three consecutive home losses to Ivy League opponents, seeing its strongest start to a season in nine years come to a sour end.

Men’s hockey goes 2-0 on weekend

The Big Green beat the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Engineers 3-1 on Friday night — the first time it has beaten RPI by more than one goal since Nov. 2012. Also, in his 21st collegiate game, Carl Hesler '18 netted the go-ahead goal to cement Dartmouth’s comeback 3-2 victory over the defending national champions, Union College.

This week I sat down with Fabian Stocek ’17. The skier won his first Carnival race in the 10K at the St. Michael’s College Carnival at Sleepy Hollow and Smuggler’s Notch this weekend, helping the Big Green finish in second place.

Skiing places second of 16 teams at Vermont Carnival

Continuing its successful run in its second carnival, the Dartmouth ski team placed second at the Vermont Carnival on Jan. 23-24. After a close race, the Big Green finished the two-day carnival only 56 points behind the University of Vermont — who dominated both slalom races — and 102 points ahead of the University of New Hampshire, which placed third. for a total of 884 team points.

For the fourth time since the start of the HSBC Sevens World Series, Madison Hughes ’15 has been selected to captain the USA Eagles sevens squad. The Eagles embarked for Wellington, New Zealand for the fourth leg of the series, set to take place on Feb. 6 and 7.

The men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams hosted a thrilling Dartmouth Invitational last weekend, ending in first and second place overall finishes for the Big Green, respectively. The men’s team secured a resounding win, scoring 1,221.5 points and breaking three records while the women's team came in second by one point.

The No. 46 Dartmouth men’s tennis experienced mixed results over the weekend, winning against the No. 66 University of Denver with a score of 5-2 before narrowly falling to No. 64 Indiana University, 4-3.

Squash teams score victories over Bates at home

The men’s and women’s squash teams came out on top in the first matches of their four-game home stands, as they both scored victories over Bates College at the Berry Squash Courts on Sunday. With decisive 7-2 victories, the No. 7 women (4-4, 0-3) topped No. 15 Bates (6-8), and the No. 11 men (3-5, 0-3) overcame the No. 16 Bobcats (7-7).

Women’s basketball falls to late Harvard run

After putting themselves on the scoreboard with Amber Mixon’s ’18 layup only seconds into the game, the Dartmouth women’s basketball team led the Harvard Crimson for all but 1:01 of the remaining 40 minutes of action on Saturday night. However, a furious late-game comeback by the visitors would change all of that.
