Dartmouth's men's hockey team upset No. 5 University of New Hampshire, 5-3, before a crowd of nearly 9,000 fans in the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Manchester, N.H. on Saturday. Dartmouth's win brings the RiverStone Cup back to Hanover for the first time in three years.

The Big Green men's hockey team defeated national powerhouse Boston University for the first time in 25 years on Tuesday night. J.T. Wyman '08 scored the game-winning goal for the Big Green with less than two minutes of play remaining, netting his third game-clinching goal of the season.

Despite a milestone set by goalkeeper Mike Devine '08 and a win over non-conference opponent Northern Michigan, the Dartmouth men's hockey team had a tough winter break. After reaching the championship game of the 2007 Wells Fargo Denver Cup, the Big Green dropped a 5-3 decision to the University of Denver on Saturday, Dec. 29 and a 5-2 decision Princeton on Friday, Jan. 4.

Dartmouth's celebration of Native American History Month was kicked off this week by the second annual First Nations Week speeches. The series of speeches, held from Tuesday through Friday, focused on the importance of retaining Native identity through cultural, land and language ties.

Twenty Dartmouth students participated in Power Shift, held this weekend and billed as the largest lobby to cut carbon emissions in history. This weekend more than 6,000 students from across all 50 states arrived at the University of Maryland to take part in a five-day event in order to promote climate change awareness and the promotion of legislation to prevent climate change.

Daniel Cooperman '72 is set to join Apple Inc. as senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, the company announced Sept. 28. "Daniel is an excellent addition to our team and will fit right into Apple's fast-paced culture," Apple CEO Steve Jobs said in a press release. Cooperman graduated from Dartmouth summa cum laude with the highest honors in economics. He then attended Stanford University's business and law schools, graduating in 1976. Cooperman has worked with San Francisco -based law firm McCutchen, Doyle, Brown & Enersen and the consulting group McKinsey & Company. Most recently, Cooperman served as the senior vice president, general counsel and secretary at the Oracle Corporation.
