With my term abroad coming to a close, I wanted to reflect on everything I've learned while living in the great nation of Spain. Although my grasp of Spanish is still as rough as Jackie Chan's English, I'm proud to say that I've acquired a lifetime's worth of knowledge about the country's sporting culture. I've immersed myself in a foreign land and I'm now reaping the benefits I can actually fit in at a soccer game and I no longer question the rules of rugby.
Even though I've been loving my time in Spain, I have been nostalgic for Dartmouth for the last two weeks ever since Winter Carnival came and went without me. Finally, after a previously unfulfilling search, I managed today to find a day in Salamanca that rivals the Dartmouth tradition.
This might seem corny, but I recently made a bucket list. For those of you who have not seen "The Bucket List" (2007) with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, a bucket list is a list of everything you want to do before you die.

During my term abroad in Spain, I have been forced to make several concessions.
Imagine going to Spain to learn Spanish and suddenly finding yourself in a restaurant surrounded by nearly 100 Chinese, Korean and Japanese students.
I never thought that my first date in Spain would be with a dude. Now, before you jump to conclusions, let me explain. My "date" consisted of Dartmouth sailor John Renehan '13, two Spanish college students, a basketball court and me. But I wasn't trying to wine and dine anyone on this sunny afternoon. Ballin' was my only concern.
A player stands 10 feet in front of me, ready to shoot.
Hola, Dartmouth. Greetings from halfway around the world. While you were getting pounded by a ton of snow, I was relaxing and writing this from beautiful Salamanca, Spain.
This year, 55 sailors from around the country were named to the team, which was formed to train athletes identified as future Olympic prospects. Sailors are each trained using specific U.S. Olympic Game boats. Roesler and Williams will team up to man a 470 a two-person dinghy.
Welcome to the first edition of the Reboot and Rally Guide to Getting it On. Although the title might seem quite suggestive, remind yourself that you're reading a tech column and then remove your head from the proverbial gutter. I talk about technology, so this column is about "Getting it On" in the digital world. (Sorry to disappoint, but I'm also not going to write about internet porn.) "Getting it On" is my new term for getting the most out of your gadgets. We live in the "app" generation. Every device from your TV to your cell phone can be customized with hundreds of downloadable apps, widgets and programs.
The men finished tied for fifth out of the 17 teams at The Classic at Shelter Harbor. Dartmouth's 295 (+9) during the final round tied the lowest score of the day and advanced the Big Green past three teams, including Ivy League rival Princeton University.
This week, I have some good news and some bad news for my loyal readers. The bad news is that I was unable to obtain a fancy new gadget to test out this week from my many (read: one) big tech company contacts. Despite my lack of temporary freebees, I was determined to find a hot new item to introduce to my Dartmouth peers. The good news, however, is that I pulled a clutch fourth quarter-Michael-Jordan move and purchased a sweet new phone to review this week. By purchased, I mean I used my mom's upgrade to receive a new phone. For the fourth straight Reboot and Rally, my bank account has less digits than Carrot Top has fans on Facebook so I had to con my Mom out of a new phone in order to complete my article and satisfy my hundreds (read: dozens) of fans.
Despite a goal in the first half from play-maker Kelly Hood '12, the Dartmouth women's field hockey team lost a grueling contest to the No. 11 Boston University Terriers, by a score of 1-4. The loss marks the second time this season that the Big Green (8-3, 2-1 Ivy) fell to a nationally ranked opponent.
Hood netted five goals and two assists in both contests for the Big Green (6-1, 1-1 Ivy) to bring her weekend point total to 12. In the contest against Brown (1-5, 0-2 Ivy), Hood earned her second hat-trick of the season with three goals from penalty corners.
Every now and then, something catches my eye and makes me say "wow." Sometimes it's a car that looks like it was pimped out by MTV's Xzibit or an incredible NFL touchdown pass that defies the laws of gravity. Everyone has a different "wow" trigger; some people love animals while others drool over breathtaking mountaintop views.
Since phone companies can customize an interface specific to each phone, every Android device provides a unique experience for its user.
"It's funny, the whole system is a little bit different," Ford-Centonze said. "When I first got here, I was hired as both the women's cross country and track and field coach. It's going back to that model but the difference is that the entire responsibility of the women's program is on me now. I'll do most of the administrative work as well as mentoring the assistant coaches and listening to feedback from the cross country runners."
At the end of Spring term, my obsession with Dartmouth baseball intensified as the Big Green journeyed into post-season contention. During each regional game, I ventured into Collis with a fresh bag of sunflower seeds in hand, claimed my seat on the couches and watched my classmates compete with some of the best players in the country in beautiful high definition.
