On April 9, the two teams met in Syracuse, where the Orange handed Dartmouth a demoralizing 22-4 defeat, the Big Green's biggest loss of the season. Though the team rebounded with a pair of wins, Dartmouth dropped its final two regular season games before pulling out a pair of victories in Philadelphia to claim the Ivy title. Defenseman Dana Brisbane '12 said that the Big Green's play last weekend is more indicative of its ability than the loss to the Orange in April.

Regardless of how much I might have liked some of the alumni who interviewed me while I was going through the college admissions process, there was always one thing that they would say that immediately made me want to punch them in the face: "You know, back in my day, you would've gotten in for sure. Too bad it's so hard for you kids now. I see kids just like you get rejected, and I know that if I had to apply today, there's no way I would stand a chance."

Although it may seem like men dominate every aspect of the world, women play a huge role today. Half a century ago, females were overlooked, especially in the spheres of politics and athletics. Women had to settle for either low-paying or part-time jobs. Times were indeed tough for the fairer sex, as men dictated the world's course.

, At the end of Winter term at Dartmouth, the campus empties out. Relieved to be done with exams and the cold, students head exuberantly to the tropics, gleefully to the mountains or quietly to the familiarity of home. Hanover is left with a smattering of townspeople and professors. The only Dartmouth students left are the spring athletes, whose work has only just begun.

"Coulda, woulda, shoulda." That's what my dad always says when I start a sentence with "I should have..." It's infuriating. Sometimes I just need to decry the injustices that have befallen me. Let me wallow.

WASP. One syllable encapsulates how a lot of people on the outside view Dartmouth. The 1950s and 1960s were the reign of the "Old Boys Club" at Dartmouth, and one might suppose that "White Anglo-Saxon Protestantism" was even more dominant prior to coeducation.

Hanover may not be a cosmopolitan culinary center in the way that nearby cities such as Boston and New York are, but it still features plenty of means for students, faculty and community members to satisfy their cravings for a range of international foods.

There is a little something about Thanksgiving that makes everything seem so much better. Perhaps it's that everything smells like cinnamon, or maybe it's the bountiful and mouthwatering feasts that make the holiday so anticipated. For me, however, it is because I get to see my family.

One time during my sophomore year, as I was sitting in the Hop with my friends, an older guy in my fraternity came up and congratulated me for hooking up with a girl the night before. I felt my stomach clench as chuckles went around the table, and I don't think it was just my hangover or the undercooked Billy Bob on my plate. I pushed out a smirk and kept eating.

Maybe I'll write a gay sex how-to. It wouldn't actually be much different than the monthly repetitions of Cosmopolitan's starkly heteronormative "how to please a man" articles, other than who is doing the pleasing. Maybe if Cosmo were to discuss women pleasuring women (and themselves) instead of just men, their younger readers would be spared the demeaning and confidence-crushing "advice" in these how-to articles, which fosters a destructive sense of self-worth in young women attempting to navigate their emerging sexuality.
