The Big Green tennis team saw a successful finish to its fall season, going 6-5 in doubles and 11-9 in singles at the Big Green Invitational last weekend. The team played in four tournaments University of Virginia Fall Invitational, National Tennis Center Invitational, ITA Regionals and Big Green Invitational and will regroup before starting the core of its schedule in January.
With the wins, the Big Green improves to 5-1-0 for the season and takes over first place in the ECAC conference standings.
Hoping to improve upon their records last season, both the Dartmouth men's and women's squash teams are looking forward to playing their first matches this season at the Ivy Scrimmages at Yale University this weekend. After an off-season of hard training, both teams enter the new season with high expectations.
Five other Big Green players Melissa Matsuoka '14, Georgiana Smyser '11, Sabrina Stewart '14, Rachel Decker-Sadowski '14 and Ryan Reichel '11 also competed in the tournament's main draw. Smyser and Stewart played in the round of 64, while Matsuoka made it to the round of 32.
Competing in its first-ever Ivy League Championship, the Dartmouth men's club soccer team won all four of its matches last weekend at Brown University, en route to its first Ivy League title. The championship marks the first major tournament win for the team since its inception in 2007.

Mary Beth Winingham '10 was awarded the Cissie Leary Award for Sportsmanship in the Northeast region, while senior co-captain Jesse Adler '10 earned the Arthur Ashe Sportsmanship Award for the Northeast region, according to a College press release.
With their season on life support the winner of game one has gone on to win the Ivy Championship Series eight seasons in a row the Dartmouth players knew they had to play their best baseball of the season to salvage the series, and they did.

The Big Green men's basketball team is trying to rebound from a 5-23 season, which saw former head coach Terry Dunn step down mid-season. After a selective interview process, College President Jim Yong Kim, Acting Athletics Director Bob Ceplikas and their staffs chose Cormier to take over the program, Ceplikas said.
The Big Green (16-6, 3-4 Ivy) took the first match of the day when Adler and Georgiana Smyser '11 teamed up to defeat Agnes Sibilski and Samantha Gridley, 8-2, at No. 3 doubles.
After falling to the Bulldogs (15-6, 4-2 Ivy), 4-0, in the ECAC Indoor Championships final in February, the Big Green (16-5, 3-3 Ivy) tried to avenge the early-season loss with a conference victory. The No. 48 Dartmouth women's tennis team split its two Ivy League matches this weekend, defeating the unranked University of Pennsylvania 6-1 on Friday and suffering its first conference loss at the hands of No. 28 Princeton University, who beat the Big Green 6-1 on Saturday. The loss to the Tigers crippled the Big Green's chances of taking the Ivy League title for the first time in school history.
Coming off a 3-1 spring break trip on the West Coast, the Big Green (15-2, 2-0 Ivy) played its first Ivy League match against Cornell on Friday. Dartmouth captured the early advantage by winning the doubles point.

Competing in their final tournament of the season, seven Dartmouth squash players participated in the 2010 College Squash Association Individual Championships over the weekend. Over the course of the three-day tournament, the Big Green collected over 100 pounds of donated items from six of the other seven competing teams for Dartmouth's Haiti earthquake relief efforts. Among the donated items were shoes, clothing, food, water bottles, tents and other necessities.
The win over Princeton by the Dartmouth women's team (7-1, 0-0 Ivy) marked the first time the current senior class ever defeated the Tigers.
