Squash squashed in season finales against Penn, Princeton

(02/13/07 11:00am)

Princeton and Penn came into the match up with the Big Green men (11-6, 2-4 Ivy) and women (10-5, 2-4 Ivy) highly ranked in the Ivy League standings. The Tigers, ranked at No. 1 in the men's league (8-0, 6-0 Ivy) and No. 1 in the women's division (8-0, 6-0 Ivy), proved to be the stronger team with a greater range of talent in their lineup. Penn, ranked No. 3 for the men (8-3, 4-2 Ivy) and No. 2 for the women (8-1, 5-1 Ivy), was equally authoritative and did not let a single match go.

Winter club sports kick off

(01/10/07 11:00am)

Club teams are student-run and vary from heavily competitive, like the Dartmouth Rugby Football Club and its consecutive Ivy League championships from 1998 to 2002, to instructional teams that anyone with a penchant for athleticism and sportsmanship can join. They may not have been professionally scouted out for their lighting-quick feet, their massive attack on the outside pin or the unfathomable ability to run a mile under five minutes, but Dartmouth club sports are more than ready to succeed this season (and earn PE credit at the same time).
