It's no use trying to write about only one of these apartments. To the women subletting them this summer, they're virtually interchangeable. Just inside their shared front door, everyone's sandals and sneakers are piled in heaps, leaving visitors to pick their way across.

“You'd want people to know each other on the second and third unit,” Katie McConnell '15 said, showing me aroundon Tuesdaynight.

The bedrooms and living spaces each sport a ceiling fan, but no air conditioning — the side-to-side opening windows prevent them from using their own. Earlier in the summer, the heat drove everyone to the downstairs common room, which has become the main space for hanging out, socializing and working. The atmosphere is very laid back, McConnell explained. For some of their friends though, the trek off campus and down the Wheelock St. hill is a little too far.

One of the best parts of the house is the new kitchen and being able to manage her own food, Gabby Josebachvili '15 said over the noise of the sink as she washed bowls of strawberries, raspberries and grapes.

The house doesn't have a nickname yet, though the "Game of Thrones" fans in residence are pushing for “Westeros.”

“Or Wild West,” Josebachvili interrupted.
