Causal Dresser

With highs in the fifties, we can shelve the thick wools and down jackets, replacing them with light fleeces, bright shirts, and khakis. We’re making the transition from dark tones to more colors and contrast as we quickly approach the bold, simple ensembles of summer.

Architecture

Warmer weather has us shedding layers. Spring type getups are less layered, less complex than winter allow, but still call for a light sweater or jacket to protect against a slightly chilling wind, or the cooler evenings. Overall, we’re looking forward to less bulk, less peacoat geometry, and sportier, bodily forms.

Colour

We’ll gravitate towards khakis and light-colored shirts as April rolls in. . These will stand on the forefront rather than being hidden by heavy sweaters and coats. It’s clear that color shift accompanies the seasonal mood. Everyone says that spring is the happier term out of the three. Consider the traditional spring colors, or pastels for something safe. But to show your anticipation for the summer, nothing is better than bold patterns or contrasts, like light shirts with dark shorts.

Boat Shoes

In the realm of boat shoes are two main competitors, Sperry Boat Shoes and L.L.Bean Moccasins, often quoted as a must-have for the spring. Some would consider these overrated, but in terms of filling the semi-formal niche, no other type of shoe is as successful. Loafers come close, depending on their make — leather or sneaker. Oxford shoes are the trump of the formal spring shoe.

With the long awaited arrival of spring, neither bound to utility nor fighting the cold or heat, there are many more options and a diverse range of pieces. The fair weather is welcome here.
