All Put Together: Your guide to cowboy boots

If you’re looking for an authentic cowboy boot, there are three brands that you want to look into: Lucchese (pronounced Lu-Kay-See), Justin Boots and Tony Lama. Texans swear by these designers because they are known for their craftsmanship and quality. These boots are handmade in Texas with pride and love, and the details etched on that rich leather will make everyone take a second.

I personally prefer brown and black boots, and avoid anything bright. I know I used to own a pair of pink cowboy boots, but they’re harder to wear as you get older. Remember: the boots are meant to accentuate your outfit, not overdo it. The Saddle Torino by Justin Boots is the perfect pair because the stitched detailing and color aren’t too obnoxious.

Cowboy boots look better over time, so don’t worry about scuffing them up a bit. The leather will start to soften and fray the more you wear them, but they will look even better than the day you bought them, and no pair ever ages the same way.

My fondness for cowboy boots has only grown over the years, especially since I came to Dartmouth. These boots remind me of everything back home, from the pink and purple sunsets to breakfast tacos on Sunday morning.
