*Tips for staying healthy*

In an email to campus this morning, Health Education Program Coordinator Kari Jo Grant wrote:

*Many students are experiencing Viral Gastroeneritis (body aches, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, sometimes fever) - usually lasting 2--3 days. Symptoms usually start to abate in 1-2 days.

*This virus easily spreads from person-person or from contact with an infected surface. *

If you get sick, stay hydrated! For students with severe & persistent symptoms or inability to keep hydrated, call Dick's House to get advice for further treatment.*

Further tips from theMayo Clinicinclude:Wash your hands thoroughly.(It's best to use warm water and soap and to rub hands vigorously for at least 20 seconds).Carry towelettes or hand sanitizerfor times when soap and water aren't available.Avoid sharingpersonal items, eating utensils, glasses and plates.Keep your distance.Avoid close contact with anyone who has the virus, if possible.
