Johnny Depp to star as Dr. Seuss in biopic

Willy Wonka, Won­der­land and Pi­rates fans get ready — Johnny Depp is on board to pro­duce and pos­si­bly star in a live-ac­tion movie about Dart­mouth alum Theodor Geisel. While Seuss's work has made it to the big screen on sev­eral no­table oc­ca­sions in­clud­ing The Grinch Who Stole Christ­mas (2000), The Cat in the Hat (2003) and Uni­ver­sal's up­com­ing adap­ta­tion of The Lorax, this is the first time that a film based on Geisel him­self has been de­vel­oped.

While we're not sure what part of Seuss's life the movie will cover, we can't help hop­ing that Dart­mouth will get a mo­ment in the spot­light.
