Johnny Depp to star as Dr. Seuss in biopic
Hollywood Reporter / The Dartmouth Staff
Willy Wonka, Wonderland and Pirates fans get ready — Johnny Depp is on board to produce and possibly star in a live-action movie about Dartmouth alum Theodor Geisel. While Seuss's work has made it to the big screen on several notable occasions including The Grinch Who Stole Christmas (2000), The Cat in the Hat (2003) and Universal's upcoming adaptation of The Lorax, this is the first time that a film based on Geisel himself has been developed.
While we're not sure what part of Seuss's life the movie will cover, we can't help hoping that Dartmouth will get a moment in the spotlight.
