To the Editor:
The Inter-Community Council, advised by the Office of Pluralism and Leadership, seeks to foster a strong, nurturing community where the needs of all students are addressed by both student and administrative leadership. We bring together liaisons from 14 different communities from across campus to advocate for the interests of traditionally under-represented groups at Dartmouth.
After co-hosting a debate last week and considering the candidates' backgrounds and engagement with the Dartmouth community, the Inter-Community Council has decided to endorse Adrian Ferrari '14 for Student Assembly president.
While the ICC liaisons draw from many different communities and interests, our endorsement reflects our ideals as a council rather than as separate individuals. As a council, we believe Ferrari's vision for Student Assembly is one that supports all students of Dartmouth. Adrian has a proven record advocating for students to the administration and his past leadership experiences working with students of various backgrounds will support his success. Further, we appreciate his goal of improving collaboration between various student advocacy organizations in order to maximize our community impact. Moreover, his spoken dedication to prioritize his commitment to Student Assembly makes us confident that he will use the position to the best of his ability.
We encourage all students to strongly consider their choices for Student Assembly leadership. Regardless of the outcome, we hope candidates and students continue to work together to make this campus a more supportive and inclusive environment for all.
