Men's hockey forward arrested in Minneapolis over break

Minneapolis police found Estoclet and 19-year old friend Daniel Ellis at the intersection of Como Avenue and 13th Avenue, near the campus of the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, Minneapolis police told KSTP.

As police approached them, Estoclet and Ellis began to run. Estoclet entered into a local residence and stole a cell phone before continuing to run away, KSTP reported.

"When Estoclet ran away, he ran into someone's house, broke in, went up into a female's room and went inside her room while she was sleeping," Minneapolis Police Sgt. Jesse Garcia told KSTP.

The police caught Estoclet shortly after, with the aid of Estoclet's mother, according to KSTP.

Estoclet was a standout player at Benilde-St. Margaret's High School in St. Louis Park, Minn. In his senior year, Estoclet recorded 69 points in 27 games to become one of the top scorers in the state and was the second player in school history to record 100 points in two seasons. The Associated Press and the St. Paul Pioneer Press named him honorable mention all-state in his senior year.

During his freshman campaign with the Big Green, Estoclet had three goals and four assists, and appeared in all 32 of the team's games.

"Adam's a player who possess tremendous stick skills and vision," said the Big Green coaching staff on the Dartmouth sports web site. "He's got great hockey sense and he's very good with the puck. Adam put up a lot of points in high school so we'll count on his excellent potential and ability to score a lot."

Estoclet was held in the Hennepin County Jail for suspicion of minor consumption of alcohol, felony burglary and fleeing police. After posting a $50,000 bond, he was released on June 5 at around 5:30 p.m., KSTP reported. He had spent approximately 12 hours in jail, according to KSTP.

Estoclet and Dartmouth's Office of Public Affairs did not return requests for comment by press time.
