Mulherrin Farm Road
Hanover police responded to a reported altercation between two canines as they were being walked by their owners. The dogs began to fight, and when one owner adjusted her dog's muzzle to keep it from shaking, the dog clamped down on the ear of the other dog, lacerating it with its teeth. An incident report was taken by the officer.
Jan. 12, 11:57 p.m.,
South Main Street
Hanover police dispatchers received a 911 hang-up call from the India Queen restaurant. The operator heard yelling in the background and someone screaming, "Get out." When officers arrived on the scene they found the owner of the establishment cleaning up broken glass and noticed blood on the shirts of several patrons. The officers inquired what had occurred and learned that a Dartmouth male approached the bar and demanded several bottles of beer. The bartender said he could only serve this student one drink, so the student became very angry and began yelling and swearing at the bartender. The disgruntled patron then moved behind the bar and began punching the bartender. The bartender returned two punches, one suspected to have possibly broken the patron's nose. The student left the establishment before the officers arrived and they were not able to obtain the student's identity. To date, no charges have been filed.
Jan. 12, 12:10 a.m.,
Tuck Mall
While on patrol, Hanover Police observed a male vomiting into a barrel outside of Carson Hall accompanied by another person holding onto him. The officers later observed two people walking down Tuck Mall, including one who appeared to be intoxicated. The officers stopped the male and female for questioning. The officers reported that the male spoke with slurred speech and possessed a glassy gaze. The 18-year-old male admitted that he had been drinking, claiming to have consumed "one shot and a few beers." He was arrested for underage possession and intoxication and transported to the police department where he was released to Dartmouth Health Services for observation.

Tuck Mall
Hanover Police responded to an ambulance dispatched to 9 Tuck Mall where a male appeared to be intoxicated. The officers observed the incapacitated individual lying on the floor with vomit on his pillow, face and clothes. The 19-year-old male was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. He was charged with underage possession and intoxication, and a court date was set for Feb. 5.
Jan. 12, 1:25 a.m.,
East Wheelock Street
Hanover Police responded to a medical call reporting that an 18-year-old female was unconscious but breathing. Upon arrival, the officers found that she had vomited in a trash can and had fluid coming out of her mouth. The officers also noticed a strong odor of alcohol. An ambulance transported the female to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. At 4:48 a.m. Hanover Police received a call from the Lebanon Police Department reporting that the aformentioned female had run away from the hospital and asking for Hanover Police's assistance in apprehending her. This individual was found in the Centerra Park Complex near Margarita's restaurant and was brought back to the Hanover police station. She was charged with unlawful possession and intoxication and was later released to a friend.

East Wheelock Street
Hanover Police was called to assist Safety and Security with an individual who appeared to be highly intoxicated on the Green. The officers found the individual slowly staggering along the pathway behind Webster Hall. They stopped and identified the individual who had reportedly urinated on himself and was speaking with slurred speech. They also noticed abrasions on the suspect's face and lower back. The officers took him into custody where he was released to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. No charges were filed because the individual was 21.
Jan. 13, 2:10 p.m.,
Tuck Mall
Hanover Police responded to a reported hit-and-run behind the Thayer School of Engineering. The victim told officers he had parked his silver Saab in the loading dock to move some boxes from his office. Upon his return, he noticed the rear of his vehicle was damaged with a broken taillight and a dent in the bumper. While surveying the scene, the victim noticed a Mercedes SUV whose bumper contained scratches of silver paint. The police ran the license plate, and after being given a description of the suspect, found him working inside of Thayer. The suspect initially denied the allegations, but after pieces of the victim's broken taillight were seen in his vehicle, he admitted to the crime. He told officers that he was "scared and embarrassed." To date, charges have not been brought against this individual.
