July 5, 1:37 a.m., West Wheelock Street

After running a routine license plate check on a car, Hanover police discovered that the driver, a 25-year-old female, was driving with a suspended license. The woman, who had been classified as a habitual offender, was stopped and arrested after driving away. In addition to driving on a suspended license, the woman's car was outfitted with an illegally modified muffler.

July 5, 9:18 a.m., South Main Street

A 29-year-old man was arrested on a disorderly conduct warrant stemming from June 25. The man, a Hanover resident, had lashed out and verbally abused passers-by. Another complaint was filed against the same man on Saturday for trying to start a fight. Police are investigating the incident.

July 7, 4:33 p.m., Lyme Road

Police responded to reports of a lost dog in front of the Dartmouth bookstore and later spotted on Lyme Road. Officers transported the dog to the station, where it was identified as belonging to Bones Gate fraternity. The dog was returned to the care of the brothers.

July 11, 4:58 p.m., South Main Street

A 51-year-old man was found on the bench behind Molly's restaurant, too intoxicated to stand. The man was transported to the hospital and arrested. The same man, a resident of White River Junction, Vermont, was arrested July 12 at 12:15 p.m. for extreme intoxication. The man had been dining at Chili's, in Lebanon, NH, and called a cab to take him to Hanover. Noting his level of intoxication, the cab driver called Hanover Police, who were waiting to arrest the man when the cab arrived in Hanover.

July 11, 5:17 p.m., South Main Street

A 17-year old female, a resident of Norwich, Vt., was arrested for illegally passing a schoolbus. The bus, which was displaying both flashing lights and a red stop sign, was picking up children when the female passed the bus, going in the opposite direction. She has a court appearance scheduled for next week.
