A member of Phi Delta Alpha fraternity threw a piece of furniture out of one of the house's windows early Friday morning. The item landed on a 1991 Chevy pick-up truck, which a Phi Delt alumnus had donated to the fraternity at the time of his graduation. Hanover Police said that the truck had been abandoned for a year and they do not expect to take further action in the matter.
May 18, 7:53 a.m., Rope Ferry Road.
Hanover Police accompanied an ambulance call to Dick's House, where a 20-year-old male was highly intoxicated. The member of Dartmouth's Class of 2009 registered a blood alcohol concentration of .40 and was transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. Because this is not the individual's first arrest for an alcohol violation, he is not eligible for diversion and his case will go to court. Moreover, a previously suspended fine from a past discretion may be imposed.
May 18, 7:03 p.m., Allen Street
A man walked up to the counter at Stinson's Village Store with two bottles of Andre champagne and two 12-packs of beer, one of Blue Moon and the other of Rolling Rock. He then presented a New York driver's license to the Stinson's employee behind the counter, who subsequently questioned its validity. After running the ID through a license verification machine, the employee called Hanover Police, prompting the would-be buyer to leave the store without the alcohol or the ID. The case is currently still under investigation.
May 18, 9:48 p.m., Rope Ferry Road
Hanover Police responded to an ambulance call at Dick's House based on the high level of intoxication of an 18-year-old female. The Dartmouth freshman had a blood alcohol concentration of .22 and was cooperative with authorities. Since this incident was her first alcohol offense, she is eligible to take diversion classes.
May 18, 11:45 p.m., Allen Street
A male subject entered Stinson's Village Store and brought a 30-pack of Bud Light beer to the cashier, to whom he offered a New York state driver's license as identification. Because the license was expired, the Stinson's employee asked for an additional piece of identification. The individual claimed to have no other forms of ID on his person, and exited the establishment without completing his purchase. Hanover Police currently have a 20-year-old suspect in the case.
May 19, 2:56 a.m., Webster Avenue
While on patrol, a Hanover Police officer witnessed a male subject climbing the fire escape at the rear of the Kappa Kappa Kappa fraternity. When the officer and his partner arrived on the scene, the individual had already summitted the fire escape and entered the fraternity house through a window. At this point, the officers saw a second man who was picking up empty beer cans underneath the fire escape. The individual claimed to be a student at the University of New Hampshire and to be 21. Because the individual appeared to be intoxicated, police asked for identification, which revealed the student to be only 19 years of age. The suspect, a resident of White River Junction, Vt., is not associated with UNH or Dartmouth and was arrested for unlawful possession of alcohol.
May 19, 3:25 a.m., Webster Avenue and North Main Street
Dartmouth Safety and Security were called to Carson Hall because an individual had been observed turning over chairs and tables at the Novack Cafe. The furniture thrower turned out to be a male member of the Class of 2008 who had turned 21 at the stroke of midnight that morning. Because the individual was on his off term, however, Safety and Security did not want to assume control of him so Hanover Police were called. Before authorities had left the area, one the intoxicated junior's friends, who was sober, came by from Kappa Kappa Kappa fraternity and took custody of the individual.
May 19, 11:52 p.m., Webster Avenue
Hanover Police dispatch sent an ambulance, with police accompaniment, to Chi Gamma Epsilon fraternity based on initial information that a 21-year-old male had fallen and hit his head. Upon arrival, the injured Dartmouth junior was sitting on a picnic table in the front yard of the Chi Gam property, and was being assisted by two women, one of whom was holding a cloth to his head to control bleeding. The individual turned out to be intoxicated, and, because he was 20 years old, he was consequently charged with unlawful possession of alcohol. He was transported to DHMC to treat his injuries, which were sustained by falling and hitting his head on a table.
May 20, 12:02 a.m., Ivy Lane
An intoxicated 19-year-old female with injuries to her head was transported by ambulance from her room in Andres Hall to DHMC. The Dartmouth freshman was somewhat belligerent, resisting the ambulance attendants' efforts to hold her and screaming what were described as "undecipherable words." At one point, according to the ambulance workers, the freshman screamed "to only following orders" in their direction.
May 20, 12:31 a.m., Choate Road
An unresponsive 19-year-old female lay on the floor of her dorm room with a small pile of vomit beside her and wearing pants that appeared to be wet from urination. The Dartmouth freshman was heavily intoxicated from consuming numerous shots of hard liquor. She was taken by ambulance from Bissell Hall to DHMC, where she was charged for unlawful possession and intoxication.
May 20, 12:42 a.m., Rope Ferry Road
Dartmouth Safety and Security brought a 19-year-old female from her room in Andres Hall to Dick's House, where she proceeded to vomit. Though cooperative, because of her state of intoxication, the Dartmouth freshman was brought to DHMC and arrested for unlawful possession and intoxication.
