The Tuck School of Business hosted a conference Friday about business in India. The conference brought together students, business professionals, entrepreneurs, and investors to discuss strategies for harnessing India's growing economic power. Topics addressed at the conference included the risks of investing in India, adapting to the changes in the global economy caused by India's economic growth, and strategies for exploiting India's new markets. Scheduled events included a keynote address by Thomas Verghese, Director of Emerging Markets at General Electric, about effective business strategies for India, three panels, and an Indian classical music concert featuring sitar- and tabla-playing musicians.

Harvard University requested that criminal charges brought against four students for disturbing a public assembly after they disrupted speech by FBI Director Robert Mueller be dropped, according to The Harvard Crimson. The students were arrested by the Harvard University Police Department after they interrupted a speech by Mueller as a form of protest. While the students said that the phrases they used were aimed to address particular issues, The Crimson reported that the police report stated that they were shouting phrases such as "the FBI equals terrorism." The police department's claims are contradicted by a video recording of the speech.

The Dartmouth Black Business Association presented a three-event mini-series entitled Upgrade Yourself on Saturday. DBBA seeks to prepare its members for successful careers in business and to increase interest in business by encouraging network building, educating African American students about business opportunities, and acting as a support group for its members. The first event, titled "Steps to Effective Industry Research," featured Tuck librarians teaching students how to use campus resources to conduct research about consulting, marketing, advertising, entrepreneurship, and banking. The second event was a lecture given by Dale Burnett Tu'07, of Savant Inc., called "Steps to Upgrade Yourself." The third event was a mixer with Tuck students designed to provide participants a networking opportunity.
