Police Blotter

April 1, Tuck Mall, 1:43 a.m.

Safety and Security officers observed a 23-year-old male unaffiliated with the College pushing his motorcycle through the Cummings Hall parking lot with significant difficulty. The officers called Hanover Police for assistance, who determined that he was extremely intoxicated and took the man into protective custody.

April 2, South Main Street, 12:47 a.m.

Police stopped a vehicle with a cracked windshield and illegal auxiliary lights for defective equipment to find that the driver of the vehicle had no license. Upon further inspection, it was discovered that the car was not registered to either the driver or the passenger, both males of an unverifiable age due to their lack of identification. The two were both arrested and it was later determined that they were illegal aliens from Guatemala and Mexico. They were turned over to U.S. Border Patrol.

April 2, Lebanon Street, 5:40 a.m.

A 19-year-old Dartmouth student who was visiting campus during an off-term was stopped by Safety and Security who believed him to be intoxicated. After questioning him and determining that he was under the influence, Safety and Security officers wanted to turn the student over to friends, but then decided to let Hanover Police take over instead. The student was arrested for internal possession by intoxication and spent the night at the Hanover Police Department.

April 2, South Main Street, 11:33 p.m.

An officer noted an individual loitering in the shadows behind the Galleria Shopping center. The officer asked the individual for identification, and the subject complied. After verifying that the subject in question was not breaking a law, the officer left.

April 3, Greensboro Road and Velvet Rocks Drive, 7:55 a.m.

A Hanover resident called the Police Department to complain about what the caller described as a "mangy, skinny black lab" lurking around the intersection of Greensboro Road and Velvet Rocks Drive. By the time a police cruiser reached the intersection, the dog had left.
