A Tuck student reported that his gold 1997 Saab had been victim to a hit-and-run accident while parked and unattended in the River parking lot. Hanover Police found that the rear of the car had incurred dents and scratches, but the car that hit it had left no obvious paint transfer that would give police a lead. The investigation is therefore closed.
March 2, East Wheelock Street, 9:42 a.m.
An officer pulled over a green 2004 Subaru Forester because snow on the windows appeared to be obstructing the driver's view. Upon further inquiry, the officer discovered that the driver was driving after the revocation of her license. The officer arrested the 23-year-old Dartmouth graduate student for driving after revocation or suspension. She had originally lost her license for defaulting on a court summons after receiving a citation for failure to get her car inspected. She has a court date April 5.
March 2, Rope Ferry Road, 4 p.m.
Police received a report from Safety and Security that a male Dartmouth student had complained of harassment, claiming that e-mails sent from an anonymous Hotmail account to at least two of his female acquaintances at Dartmouth had compromised his reputation. The case is under investigation, but the police have no suspects.
March 4, Rope Ferry Road, 6:15 p.m.
Safety and Security turned over what appeared to be a burnt marijuana cigarette to Hanover Police. No one was arrested.
March 4, Summer Court, 8:54 p.m.
A 15-year-old male reported to police that a member of the Dartmouth event staff had assaulted him in Thompson Arena at a Dartmouth hockey game. Allegedly, the event staff member was questioning the boy about his water bottle, at which point he tried to grab the bottle from the boy and, in doing so, struck him in the face. Police decided not to arrest the staff member.
March 6, Ivy Lane, 12:15 a.m.
Officers responded when Safety and Security requested assistance with an uncooperative intoxicated individual unwilling to surrender his identification. Police arrived at Andres Hall and arrested the 19-year-old Amherst College student, who became cooperative as soon as the police arrived, for unlawful possession and intoxication. He has a court date April 19.
March 7, Lebanon Street, 1:23 p.m.
Safety and Security reported to Hanover Police that someone had broken into the women's locker room at Spaulding swimming pool for no apparent reason some time between 2:30 p.m., March 4, and 3:30 a.m., March 6. The door sustained minor damage during the break in, but otherwise no damage was done. The case is still under investigation.
