Officers responded to a complaint made by members of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity that two males were wrapping trees with toilet paper outside the fraternity. SAE members cleaned up the mess so that it would not litter the campus, prompting the cops to tell the members that they were good men.

Jan. 22, Lebanon Street, 2:44 a.m.

A female Dartmouth sophomore was the victim of a hit and run on Webster Avenue after Safety and Security had evacuated a dance party at Chi Gamma Epsilon fraternity. The right, front corner of a late-model dark-colored sport-utility vehicle struck the girl and knocked her to the ground. Upon impact with the ground, she suffered minor facial lacerations. After the incident, the wounded woman's friends escorted her to an apartment on Lebanon Street before calling the police.

Jan. 23, Tuck Mall, 12:11 a.m.

On a routine patrol through Lord Hall, Safety and Security officers smelled what appeared to be marijuana coming from one of the rooms. When they entered the room, they discovered that the man in possession of marijuana was not a Dartmouth student. Since the man was not affiliated with Dartmouth, Safety and Security called Hanover Police. The police arrested the 27 year-old male for possession of a "small amount" of pot. He has a court date on Feb. 22.

Jan. 24, Summer Street, 10:34 a.m.

Police executed a search warrant at the residence of a suspect in an ongoing investigation of a series of forged prescriptions. The suspect has been counterfeiting prescriptions for the narcotic painkiller Percocet and the anti-anxiety medication Xanax across multiple jurisdictions, including 15 times in Hanover. The most recent offense was at Eastman's pharmacy on Jan. 13.

Jan. 24, Tuck Mall, 1:19 p.m.

A male Dartmouth student reported that his 2004 silver Toyota Matrix had been stolen outside Butterfield Hall. An officer soon found the car outside of Topliff Hall, at which point the student realized that was where he had parked the car in the first place.
