Ivy big boys bully the men in season opener

The Dartmouth men's swimming and diving team opened the 2004-05 season with some stiff competition, falling to Harvard and Cornell on Friday. In the tri-meet, Harvard overpowered the Big Green, 223-76, and Cornell, 195-104, and Cornell defeated Dartmouth, 200-100. Win, the Dartmouth men did not, but there were several moments that will be almost as hard to forget as the Harvard coach making his swimmer cry.

Dartmouth freshman Andrew Berry was the runner-up in 1-meter diving with 280.65. Senior Sean Robinson was third in the 100 backstroke with 54.05, and junior John Reidy picked up third place in the 200 fly in 1:58.29. Sophomore Evan Sparks was third in diving with 238.30, and junior Chris Mudd also took the third spot with 1:55.26 in the 200 backstroke. Dartmouth is back in action on Saturday, November 20, traveling to Brown for a tri-meet that includes Navy.
