Sept. 22, East Wheelock St. and Rip Road, 12:53 a.m.

A Hanover Police cruiser spotted a male, clothed in all black, standing on the side of the road near East Wheelock Street and Rip Road shortly after midnight. The officer passed the individual once. Shortly after, the officer returned to the same spot to find that the suspicious man had disappeared.

Sept. 22, South Main St., 10:30 p.m.

Hanover Police was called to mediate a dispute between two women outside the Dunkin Donuts adjoined to Foodstop. A woman was leaving Dunkin Donuts after work when she heard people yelling from a van calling her "fat." The angered woman made a comment to one of the van's passengers, prompting one of them to get out of the van to confront her. At this point, the Dunkin Donuts employee removed the lid of her coffee, preparing to throw the coffee in case the other woman assaulted her. Instead, the woman kicked the front of the car of the Dunkin Donuts employee, breaking off a piece of plastic on the license plate. Once Hanover Police arrived, the two women decided they did not want to bring criminal charges against each other.

Sept. 23, South Main St., 2:56 a.m.

Hanover Inn security reported to the Hanover Police that a male subject tried to break into a room on the basement level of the Inn, and then took off running. The Police spotted a male on Maple St. who fit the description, and when the officer stopped to identify the suspect, he grew belligerent and agitated. The suspect initially denied being at the Hanover Inn, but then changed his story and said he was, indeed, at the Hanover Inn. It was determined that the 21-year-old Dartmouth senior was intoxicated and was taken into protective custody at Dick's House.

Sept. 24, East Wheelock St., 7:32 p.m.

An altercation between two 30-something couples at a Hopkins Center event turned out to be nothing more than a misunderstanding. It appears that a man was escorting his wife to the bathroom, when a woman confronted her by pushing her and saying the bathroom was already taken. It turns out that the woman was taking care of someone in a motorized wheelchair who was already using the bathroom.

Sept. 24, South Main St., 11:56 p.m.

Two females consuming alcoholic beverages in a parked grey Lexus were charged with underage possession of alcohol, via a tip-off from an employee at the Hanover Inn. The employee noticed the 16 and 20-year-old girls drinking in their car, and promptly reported it to the Hanover Police. The girls, who were visiting the area from Massachusetts, had champagne and two bottles of vodka in their car and were summarily arrested.

Sept. 26, South Park St., 7:52 p.m.

From a pay phone at the Mobil Station on Lebanon Street, a 53-year-old male subject called 911, stating that he had intentionally overdosed on his blood pressure medication. He was then transported to the hospital for treatment.

Sept. 26, East South St., 9:49 p.m.

An arrest warrant was filed for a 19-year-old Dartmouth junior who had jumped out of the second floor of Dick's House last year. In an apparent escape attempt, the intoxicated male had landed face down with his head against the wall of the building, still clutching the curtains he had grabbed while jumping. Following the botched jump, the male was taken to the hospital. His case is currently being processed.

Sept. 27, South Main St., 1:37 a.m.

Alerted to the presence of an injured deer on the road, the Hanover Police arrived on the scene to put down the deer that had probably been hit by a car. The deer was shot to death, and the police department expects to give the deer to people interested in its meat.
