Police Blotter

July 9, Lebanon Street, 12:03 p.m.

The receptionist at the College's Real Estate Office pressed the panic alarm to report an emergency at their 7 Lebanon Street location. An unwanted woman was loitering in their office. According to real estate officer Robert Christensen, Safety and Security instructed his office to alert the police if the female ever showed up. When police arrived, the female would not provide any identification, but Christensen said she had no affiliation with the College. The female was escorted from the office, and the police took no further action.

July 9, South Main Street, 6:55 p.m.

A clerk at Foodstop called the police to advise that a false Pennsylvania driver's license may have been used to purchase alcohol and cigarettes. Earlier in the day, the clerk had sold one bottle of white wine and a 30-pack of Miller High Life to an individual with a Pennsylvania I.D. The employee's suspensions were aroused when another male used the same I.D. to purchase cigarettes, and the clerk called the police, but didn't seize the false license.

July 10, Webster Avenue, 12:07 a.m.

Safety and Security requested assistance with an intoxicated non-student male encountered outside Phi Delta Alpha fraternity. The 20-year-old resident of Plymouth, Mass., visibly intoxicated with mumbled speech and bloodshot eyes, admitted to consuming alcohol but did not specify where. He was arrested for unlawful consumption, but will be given the option of diversion.

July 10, South Main Street, 6:31 p.m.

Police apprehended a 16-year-old male from New York, N.Y., a Dartmouth squash camper, under charges of illegal possession of alcohol. The day before, the perpetrator was involved in one of the two fake I.D. incidents at Foodstop. He attempted once again to use the same I.D. to purchase alcohol at the 24-hour convenience store. When the clerk called the police to report the I.D., the subject fled the scene. Hanover Police officers, however, spotted the suspect outside Foodstop. Despite the teenager's best attempts to elude the law on foot, he was apprehended by an officer near Molly's. He was expelled from the camp, although Hanover Police are not going to pursue the case.

July 11, Mass Row, 1:07 a.m.

An intoxicated 20-year-old male sophomore from Florida was observed vomiting by Safety and Security in the vicinity of Thayer Dining Hall. Safety and Security called an ambulance, thus alerting Hanover Police. Although it is likely that an ambulance would have been called in any case, the fact that Dick's House was closed may have contributed to their decision.

Emergency medical technicians did not transport him to DHMC, believing that his condition did not necessitate hospital care. The police arrested the male with unlawful possession, although he will be given the choice of diversion.
