June 28, Hanover Police Department, 6:14 p.m.

A husband and wife were involved in a domestic dispute at the Hanover Police station on Lyme Road. The husband drove to the police station with his wife in pursuit in another vehicle. In the station parking lot, the enraged wife began to bang on her husband's car. The dispute stemmed from a child custody case originating in the White River Junction, Vt., family court. No charges were filed.

June 28. Webster Avenue, 10:35 p.m.

Safety and Security received a call regarding an abandoned dog at The Tabard coed fraternity. Upon investigation at the house, Hanover Police encountered a 25-year-old female who claimed to be an employee of the Valley News, an assertion a Valley News senior staff member denied. The officer discovered an outstanding warrant for her arrest for failure to pay a fine dating from a September 2003 open container violation incident. She was booked and released.

June 30, Mass Row, 3:12 p.m.

A female '06 reported a stolen Dell 4100 laptop that was taken from her unlocked North Massachusetts dormitory room sometime between 3 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. the day before. Unfortunately, Hanover Police currently have no leads.

July 1, North Main Street, 1:07 a.m.

Safety and Security called Hanover Police for assistance with two intoxicated males, aged 39 and 44, whom Chief Nicholas Giaccone described as "bums," inside Collis. The police had earlier encountered the two outside Ben and Jerry's on Lebanon Street hours before. Police found in their possession items that appeared to be stolen or shoplifted from around the Upper Valley. But Hanover Police decided to not charge them, preferring to keep them in protective custody until they sobered and then "get 'em the hell out of town."

July 5, Tuck Mall, 2:28 a.m.

A resident of Butterfield Hall called the police to complain that fraternities on nearby Webster Avenue were setting off fireworks. Hanover Police officers, however, did not observe any illegal activity upon investigation.

July 6, Hanover Police Department, 8:46 a.m.

Police arrested a 43-year-old Woodsville resident for criminal trespassing from a June 23 incident in which she allegedly entered several area homes. After receiving complaints from residents, police picked her up driving with a suspended license. She claims she was looking for cleaning jobs, but police suspect she is lying.

July 6, Lebanon Street, 3:43 p.m.

The parking attendant at the garage downtown observed two young males, aged 14 and 15, trying to break into cars while monitoring the video surveillance system. When police arrived, the two claimed they were playing tag. Police could not verify if they in fact had broken into a vehicle and thus released the two.

July 7, Mass Row, 12:55 a.m.

Safety and Security called Hanover Police to assist which an intoxicated 19-year-old non-student female from White River Junction outside Mid-Massachusetts dormitory. She did not disclose where she had consumed alcohol. Police charged the female, who had a blood alcohol content of .128, with unlawful possession.
